This is our main specialist area. We take a holistic view of learning and recognise that learning is as much about changes in feelings, skills and attitudes as it is about increased knowledge and understanding – and that the learning that can take place on a heritage site is qualitatively different from what goes on in the classroom. We work with museums, galleries, historic buildings, archives and collections to ensure that their content achieves learning objectives. This may result in one or more of the following outcomes:
A learning audit – a detailed analysis of your organisation from a learning perspective and what would be required to develop its potential
A learning policy – we work with you to develop your policy, relating it to learning theories and styles, and to established programmes such as ‘Inspiring Learning for All’, the National Curriculum and ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’.
A learning strategy – guiding you on the path to develop the organisation as a centre for learning, typically done as part of an audience development plan or other development project.
